It's not a breed! An adult fox terrier should be about 18lb in weight - they have to be big enough to take on a fox. Anything much smaller than that is an undersized runt. Don't waste your money - because I bet you'd be charged an astronomical sum for it!

The smallest breed of dog in the world (I believe) is the Chihuahua and they come in 2 models, Long coat and Smooth coat. The weight is up to 6lb but most are between 2 and 4 lb. These are healthy dogs that breed true to size and are not the result of breeding undersized runt to undersized runt to produce extra small unhealthy dogs that silly people pay a fortune for.

The smallest terrier is the Yorkshire Terrier that should weigh up to 7 LB it is in the Toy group but is never the less a feisty terrier despite its size.

A Toy Fox Terrier is a breed and is also known as the American Toy Terrier. They are recognised by the AKC and look similar to a predominately white min pin. Try the American Toy Fox Terrier Club

If the guest is in the UK s/he is going to have a long wait then! They're not recognised here, and importing one would cost a fortune and take almost a year.
:)

Can't be that it is not the smallest dog in the world, it's on a par with the average Yorkie, 8 1/2 to 11 1/2"

I cant think of many things so shameful! Fox terriers are such striking little dogs! It doesnt bear thinking about, the lengths folk will go to to make a few quid.

As a person who's first ever dog was a Fox Terrier cross all I can say is that this rubbish in those pictures are not fox Terriers! I'm always supprised at the lengths people will go to for money!

I remember there used to be a little dog in our woods, but I think it was a miniature pinscher - could that be the breed you were looking for? (sorry if that's a daft question, but it's just a sugestion) :)

According to that site they are not recognised by the AKC. They don't look much like Fox Terriers, do they? :(

In one place it says that it is recognised by the AKC, but earlier it says they are 'seeking AKC recognition'. If they don't know whether or not they're recognised they must be very amateur!
