Thanks for your reply, and your right, we have avoided contact with other dogs as we worry about it.They really aren't aggressive, but when I try to tell other dog walkers they think I am mad, they don't understand(I don't blame them)all they see is a hound. They are brother and sister and as far as we know have never been apart, which means when we have tried to walk one the other one cries thier eyes out.I am torn between causing the one left behind distress and doing the right thing as, and your right here aswell, they are perfectly ok on thier own, and will play really well with other dogs, only thing there is that as they can out run everything on the planet, most other dogs won't play.
We will do as you said with the lead training as we do have all the patience in the world with them,it took a little time to understand the whole Saluki mind set, we knew nothing about salukis, neither did the rescue center, but you know when you fall in love!(I would only ever have a Saluki now)so thankyou once again for all your kind advice,
Ash and Mat.

You are welcome. I wouldn't leave one in on it's own if it causes distress. One of you will have to stay in with the dog whilst the other walks the other dog or enlist the help of a freind or neighbour to sit in for a while if one of you is at work. Good luck anyway. I have an Afghan Hound and she is very much a hound, aloof, independant and a dot on the horizon within seconds but she lives with collies. Some of their qualities have rubbed off on her and if all else fails they can round her up.
