I am thinking of buying a Llasa Apso puppy. I have had Westies in the past, and have a Westie now.
I don't know much about Llasas and am looking for breeders and any tips on having one.
Any advice would be welcome.
thank you so much

hi lynne,
lhasa apso's are a fab breed ,but must say ther coat can be alot of hard work, beleive me i have owned them for 7 year's showing /breeding,but don't breed anymore, you will need to pay attention daily to a apso's coat and a visit to the groomer's every 6 week's if your wanting to keep the coat short,as i have said they are a lovely breed ,and make great family pet's,take a look her on champ dog's for lhasa breeder's and only buy from eye tested parent's(P.R.A),good luck in your search.

Hi Lynne

As Keisha says they need attention to their coats each day to keep them free from matting but if you do brush/comb them every day it doesnt take long. I find my lhasa can mat quicker than my little shih tzu. But they are gorgeous animals and if you dont mind putting in a bit of effort then you will love them. We try to keep Barney looking like a lhasa as I think it is silly to buy a dog and then have it so clipped back it doesnt look like its breed. But Barney has by no means a long coat like the showdogs but he does look like a lhasa :p :p
