Out on walk tonight with Manic Morse allowed off lead and beautifully obedient, hes got the hang of walking close off lead:) Of course there has to be a problem, dosent there, I mean we can never RELAX can we? A blessed cyclist rushed up behind me and the little girls, no lights, no bell, and no time to call dog as the impatient person swerved round the back of my girls and sped off down path, with Morse bellowing in pursuit. After 50 yards and language that would shame a Sergeant Major, Morse returned. I am FURIOUS, hes NEVER, EVER chased a cyclist in his short life, No has been enough and now I may have a problem. The rest of the walk went well with him doing exactly as told. All hints gratefully received.

Last summer something similar hapened to my brother and his Dobe.  A cyclist, on the path, spooked the dog.  The dog was off-lead as they were in a 'green' space, with just a quiet road nearby.  The Dobe chased the cyclist onto the main road, causing a car to swerve to avoid the dog and hit a fence.  My brother was faced with a repair bill of about £1,000.  Although the dog is insured it was not covered as it was 'not under proper contol' as it was off-lead.  The cyclist was never traced as my brother tried to claim from him for the ladies car repair.  No witnesses either!

Unfortunately there are SO many non-doggie people out there with absolutely NO common sense and then it's your dog which is in the wrong!!!!!
