Can someone help me work out whether I am entitled to claim a junior warrant point or not  for the following classes today.  My gut feeling is no but the KC guidelines weren`t clear (well to me anyway).

I entered my pup in a graduate class for which there were 5 entries, 3 adults and 2 pups.  The Open class had three adults. My pup went on to collect reserve (needs to put on a bit of weight to compete against adults).  Subsequently we took Best Puppy in Breed and the winning adult took Best in Breed.

The guidelines state

"One point for the award of Best of Breed at an Open Show. Only to be claimed if no Junior
Warrant Points were gained by that dog by winning a Breed Class or Classes."

How does this apply to best puppy in breed?

My logic suggests that because there was a separate award of Best in Breed we can`t claim anything.  Is this correct?

You have to have won a class.  If there were enough exhibits in that class then you get your point.  If you won a class of one or two, but then got BOB and there were more than 3 dogs shown in the breed rthen you get one point.  Best puppy has no bearing at all.

Unfortantly you can't.  Its only if you win BOB, RBOB and BPIB don't count. :(

Oh no, I didn`t expect to get a point, however I just wanted to check my understanding as I`m new to this!  While pup has a lovely build he is far too skinny at the moment to get anywhere.  However I know that he will stop growing up soon and will start building up.  I`m just taking him atm to get him used to the ring so anything is a bonus!
