To be honest, the best advice I ever had was from my breeders (one of whom is a very very good friend now) and other dane owners. I had a good book lent to me, but I can't recall who wrote it now, I'll try and find out.

Put a post up when you join and I'll drop you my email address and put you in touch with other dane owners. You will need to join asap though because these posts will get deleted for not having contact details, and I think only one post is allowed as a visitor, but I'm not sure. Join!! :) :)

lol - yes do join soon :D

I've got the 'Pet love' one by S William Haas and it's fairly good for a general overview, also one by Jill Swedlow and wander if it's the one you are talking about? American breeder also has miniature horses?

Anyway, it's quite good and mentioned 'knuckling over' and how to treat it - a particular interest to me since Dizzy started to do this quite badly just after we got her. The only problem is it's american and goes into lots of detail on cropping ears etc - that obviously I didn't need.

If you find a great one let me know - I'm always on the lookout for a great great dane book :D
