No, its too much :)
You need to restrict his exercise to "socialisation" exercise only. I used to take Willis up to the school in my car, then walk him the 50 yards to meet all the school kids, then back to the car.
You could also take him in the car to go and sit by a park bench, to get him out and about - but 20 mins off lead walking every other day before the age of 6 months is going to put too much strain on those joints ;)
Why don't you register - there are a few dane owners here :)

As a very rough rule of thumb guide, 5 minutes of exercise per outing per month of age. (Around 20 minutes at 16 weeks, 25 minutes at 20 weeks etc) This is not as restrictive as it might sound because any time sitting or having a rest when out is not part of the 5 minutes. My Anna went to an exemption show to socialise when she was about the age of your Dane. She was there for an hour or so but most of that time she was laid beside me and was only actually walking for about a quarter of an hour.
Best wishes, John

At this age your puppy should only be getting a short lead walk each day. Free play in a garden is more than sufficient to provide exercise, and as Chloe says the walk should be used to socialise the puppy rather than exercise it. When doing the lead walk it should be on hard surfaces (road walking), not on grass to build up the muscles.
Hope that helps

Just wanted to say hello and suggest you register here - I've got a dane puppy too and the help and advise I've got from these boards has been invaluable! ChloeH and GraceB have told me things even my vet was unsure of :D
