Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / She keeps weeing on my foot!!!
- By issysmum [gb] Date 03.03.02 16:59 UTC
Whenever I get Holly out of her crate in the morning she's so excited to see me that she wees all over my foot. If I'm quick and move my foot out of the way she wees on the carpet. I've tried geting up earlier and turning off the alarm so she doesn't hear me but she still wees everywhere.

Anyone got any suggestions? I'm fed up with washing my feet at 6.30am every morning :D

Cheers,

Fiona

She doesn't do it to Chris, just me.

Think it is just excitment at seeing you and with a full blader she is not yet old enough to control it. Move your foot quickley and ignore the puddle until you have taken her out and praised her when she finishes the job. She should stop when she has better control. JH

Fiona,

The easy answer is to get Chris to get her up in the morning

:D

I've tried that but he deals with the baby in the morning so I get the dog.

It's not a serious problem just irritating, and wet :D

Fiona,
My akita bitch Willow never quite got out of the habit I m sure yours will though !, when we had visitors we'd always say don't stroke the akita please and of course they'd say is it vicious?, the answer was no she'll just wee on you !!

I still miss her though

one of my sheltie pups did this until about 5 months old. The excitment of seeing you in the morning is more than their little bladders can take. It means she loves you, loves you, loves you! Quite a compliment actually!
