I went to a show last weekend ( meant to post then but was busy ) , i was not showing myself , but i went to see some friends, anyway , we was watching the westies being shown and a very well known lady was there with what i presumed to be her dog and won BOB.
Later on that day we saw the same lady handling 5 more different breeds and won BOB with all of them, and no none of them was her dogs just handling for other people.
Just wondered if this was allowed?

There are many people who use professional (and amateur) handlers for their dogs for various reasons. Geoff Corish for example handles a number of breeds for various owners. You see this particularly in terriers.
The same applies in agility, working trials, obedience etc

I have occasionally handled other people's dogs myself. There's nothing in the rules that says the owner must handle. There are several professional handlers in the UK - in many countries the owner/handler is a rarity.

In actual fact, I have almost only ever handled other peoples dogs in shows! (Never been paid for it though :( )
Regards, John

Its allowed, paid or unpaid. i often handle for other people and normally do more winning with other peoples!!!! (2 group wins and a BIS!!!!!!!!!)

I was taken poorly at East of England after coming 3rd with Solli Sod in Post Grad and someone visiting from the USA took The Sod into the ring for the Limit class and won it. I was pleased with the win but even more please to watch how he went for her and I recon I learned a lot whilst sitting in her chair and watching her handle.

A friend of mine has a WHFT which is professionally handled. It costs her £50 everytime it wins a ticket, then extra for Group placings. It costs £35 for just taking it into the ring. AND the Pro Handler usually collects all the nice freebies from Pedigree!! I only handle my own dogs now but reckon that if I had charged everyone that I used to handle for I could have done quite nicely!!! We made our bitch up this year and my mother is getting very adept at trotting off to Pedigree to see what she can claim for herself!!!! This year she has claimed a freezer bag, a stool, 2 food bins, a blanket, a brolly, about a hundredweight of packet meat (very useful) and about £50 in vouchers. I would imagine that Dizzy has done pretty well out of that nice Sharpei of hers!!
