Someone dumped our dog at a local Little League Field. We have taken her in and after much research, she must be a purebreed Schipperke. Our vet thinks she is about 2 1/2 years old. Is there any way we can papers for Sahdow for breeding purposed.

PS: Swore we not have another dog, but she has been a true blessing for our family.

Thank you,

Hi Vicki,
I'm guessing you are in the US (we don't have Little League in the UK!) so I don't know how the AKC works, but I imagine it's similar to ours, where only the breeder of a dog can register it, and then only if both its parents are registered. Without knowing the names of your dog's parents, how would it be possible to get a pedigree - you can't just make one up!

You could try advertising that you've found her, love her and want to keep her, but would be pleased if her former owners would let you have her paperwork. Other than that, just enjoy her as your pet.

You need to get in touch with the Schipperke Club of America, they maybe able to help you trace the breeder etc but I'd be very surprised if you could get her papers etc, there are on average 3,000 schips registered in the US annually along with a fair few bred by puppy farmers for the pet shops, if this bitch is from a reputable breeder many neuter their pups before they leave for their new homes  -------- the SCA has a website if you do a google search.
