As many of you may know I have a homebred bitch living and showing overseas, got a CAC on her first outing - not been to another show since mind lol. The lady knows that I breed for creams as well as blacks and has offered me a stud of a known Gold carrying DKuch Intuch Norduch male who has produced coloureds with the all important black toe nails, something we're lacking here in the UK, who's pedigree comes back to the same colour lines as ours here in the UK except some went direct from South Africa without hitting our shores on the way.
Trouble is she then offered me a stud on another 2 males who have also produced the golds black toe nails etc, all 3 pedigrees go back to similar lines to my own dogs. Then she tells me about 2 males she has for sale born 03 that are highly likely to carry the colour gene, we have a test available so that's not too hard to deal with, 1 of these boys has a stunning mummy but not so nice granny on his dam's side, she's also told me about a couple of matings she's doing that go back to the Kassalmak kennels that is where most of my stock comes from in the UK so again match up beautifully on paper.
So on my very limited funds I have a few choices, test and import one of her 2 males or pup from either of the litters, put my bitch on PP to send over for a mating with my choice of 3 males offered, wait 18mths for my own gold puppy bitch to mature and send her instead. She can accommodate my girl who can travel with a friend of her's who comes over regular and is willing to collect my bitch or bring a dog to me, after he's been shown and made up, might as well make good use of his quarantinee with her before he leaves.
So you more experienced folk out there please which would you go for coz I'm nearing a mental meltdown now! Of course if I won the lottery I'd go for a stud, buying a dog in and poss buying a pup in from one of the matings ----- but I'm just hoping to win my DLA appeal on Jan 13th as if I lose, this will all be moot anyway ------ still it keeps my mind off the nasty bits of life.

I`d talk it thru with the most experienced & trusted,person/friend in the breed(or not even same breed) I knew who could give a totaly unbiased view, think what they`ve said & talk it thru & go for the gut instinct, if I couldn`t afford it I`d wait till I could, if it was a once in a lifetime chance I`d go into debt! :D
Sorry not much help really :) but good luck making the right choice :)

Lucky you - being so spoilt for choice. I can't really help as I have never bred for colour but if in doubt I'd go for one which had already produced the goods! There was a dog in our breed who I considered the best I'd ever seen, he wasn't an experienced stud & I didn't like his mum very much. In the end, I used his dad & produced 2 Chs. The dog I really liked never did produce anything worthwhile.

id go for the best producing lines ------ and have a pic from that litter sent over on the pet passport scheme. ------ ???????? any help.
Sorry, just being nosy, what does DLA stand for?

As it's "on appeal" I would suggest it is Disability Living Allowance. Very very difficult to prise this out of the Government I'm afraid if you really are disabled. Apologies if I'm wrong!

This is definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity but only if I win my appeal, yes it's disabled living allowance, I used to get it but a locum at the hopsital gave out incorrect information to the DLA and he has now moved on so not answerable for his mistake plus the Government are only too willing to accept HIS report rather than any others showing his error, sorry this has been going on for almost a yr now and I'm fed up of it all. I am really unsure what to expect as the appeal board wanted more medical evidence I asked for a female Dr they couldn't get one so it has been sent back to the board, if I'm really honest I'm expecting them to chuck it out.
My friend has now said she will come with me to view the dogs, depending on my dr and of course the insurance companies re flying etc. I have asked the breeder for the details of the stud who sired her gold that's gone overseas, I like that dog and am hoping it's one of the dogs I've already spent wks researching via the net and others within our breed who know some of the dogs in their pedigrees. The litters on offer have colour in their lines but of course it's a recessive gene so testing will have to be done if there are all blacks born.
We have decided on a meeting between me, the breeder of my dogs and the breeder of her dogs also our club vice president for the end of Jan to discuss this in more detail! Ever felt like you should be standing outside the heads office? My job is to collect piccies and pedigrees --------- still wondering what theirs is lol. In the meantime menieres or not I'm drowning in Irish cream and be damned lol.
