Would like a playmate for Ted who is five and a half months old does anyone have any pups that will be ready soon

I am assuming that Ted is a canine?  I would advise waiting until Ted is at least 18 months (preferably two to 3 years old) before intriducing a new dog into the family.  by then he should be well trained and have an established palce in the scheme of things and be a good influence on a new pup, and be secure enough to prevent issues of status between them, with the youngster respecting the mature adult as being higher in rank.

Getting another pup now will mean that yor training of Ted will go backwards, and the pups are likely to be more focussed on each other than you.  Eventually at some point one will wnat to be dominant oiver the other, and with small age gap there may be no natural leader, so they may fight to establish this.
