I have a KC registered working border collie and would like to put him to stud as he has a fantastic temperament. Wher do I start looking for a suitable bitch?

Seek advice from your breeder, and check out all relevant health tests he may need before putting him to stud.

Besides having a fantastic temprament he should also be a good examople of the breed and also in the peak of health :)

Do you do any kind of field trial or showing with him? If not I'd look into trying that as it will increase your chances of finding a suitable bitch to mate to him. Your only other way would be to buy a bitch and mate the two when she is old enough. Is he ISDS registered? He might have to be to enter a trial.

Hi the health tests you need to  do are eye test by a specialist, hipscoring and BAER hearing test.By working do you actually mean sheepwork or are we talking trails, obedience or agility? Gillian

If his breeder does not health test or show then try contacting one of the breed clubs
