I've just become the proud owner of an adorable red staffie bitch.  After months of nagging we have a new edition to our family and believe me she is a star.  I'll probably be on here in a few weeks to ask for some advice so I'm just here to fowarn you all.

You wouldn't believe how strange it is.  When I had my little boy (who is now 6) the slightest noise or movement I was there and guess what......  I'm there again,  WOW I can't believe how lucky I am.  Believe it or not I'm actually looking forward to having my sleepless night tonight.

Merry Christmas and I hope you all had one as good as I have, Santa brought her to the best house ever ( I know you will all disagree but I'm on a high)

Lots of love Claire and Amy, my gorgeous Staffie.

I know exactly what you mean about listening for pup all the time :) When our pup arrived I kept wanting to look at him all the time too. Have fun with Amy and dont worry if it all gets very tiring at the beginning, I felt it was very similar to having a new baby lots of joy and excitement with hard work. Of course shes in the best house ever with the best mum and dad on the planet! :)

That's great that you love your new addition so much...lucky pup!  Good choice...I've got 3 staffs...2 nearly 6mths old and their mum and the house is wee bit chaotic but it's great!

Well day five and all is going well.  She is sleeping a lot and is only playing for about 20 mins at a time then going back to bed.  We have a crate for her and she doesn't mind being in there one bit.  The first night I slept down stairs with her and we had a few little wimpers but nothing major.  Then the next night we left her on her own.  She sleeps right through until about 8am then it's toilet time and breakfast time.  She's being paper trained as we have an open yard at the moment as we're waiting for a gate to be fitted so we can't take her outside as she hasn't had her first injections yet.  So for only being 6 1/2 weeks she's doing great.  I'll keep you all posted on the progress.
