Hi all and Merry Christmas!

You might remember a month or so ago I wrote asking about getting Copper stripped (BT) and it got to the stage where he looked like he could have sold big issues very successfully (no offence to BI sellers intended here).  So I researched the groomers, took recommendations and took him in for the chop.  Well!!!  I didn't recognise him when I picked him up.  I mean, he is immaculate and all but I didn't expect him to be soooo emmm bald.  I'm sure its normal, I mean even my mum said he looked "scruffy" before, but it just doesn't look like my Cops.  Please reassure me that this is all fine, he's got a wee beard, huge eyebrows and a kind of "sleek" body now.  I'm sure I could put him in the ring and he would win a prize right now, but.......it will grow in again won't it??? Lol, sorry, not used to pedigrees!  Thanks in anticipation.

He's a border terrier and I have to admit he was extremely overgrown but this seems to be the extreme opposite!  However, he's still gorgeous, however bald he is!

Sounds as if he has been stripped down to undercoat, which is correct.  It will take between 6-12 weeks for the hard coat to come back, so at this time of the year just be careful of him getting to wet as he will not have the same waterproofing he had before.

He shouldn't have big eyebrows by the way!!!!   That sounds more like a schnauzer strip to me.

I was just going to say the same thing!  Should't have big eyebrows, they should of been stripped down too.

Thanks everyone!  I've bought him a coat in case he's cold and I'll avoid him getting wet.  Going to phone the groomer on Monday - she said I could pop back in if I wasn't happy about anything.  Just want to check his eyebrows are normal!  Probably just me thinking they're huge but I'll ask them.  They were very professional so I'm sure they'll advise.  Thanks again.

Why don't you look at pictors of other trimed BT and comapr him.  That way you can get him "styled" like the top!!!!:)

He is a Champion by the way, so your groomers should have some idea from that what the finish should be.

Yes please!  I would love to see a pic of your dog and I can have a quick compare with the champions!  I've been looking on the net at Borders and now that I see them stripped I think Copper has been done properly.  He just looked such a skinny wee thing with a furry face when he was first done.  I have only ever had mongrels in the past and it is an experience owning a pedigree so I do appreciate eveyone's expert advice.  If you could email me the pic I would be very grateful.
