hello
I have a wonderful , mad samyoed called Oushi she is the life and sole of our house ,and I would really like to buy another one in the near future as I know her best friend will not last much longer she is a Lharsa and is now the grand old age of 15.So I was thinking of either mateing Oushi (who is 6 ) or just getting another one and having her nuted.I have been finding it very difficult as there are very few where I live ,and the ones that are with our vet have been nuted.
Oushi is rejested with the kennel club and is a pure breed :I believe she came from Dorset ,but I brought her from a horrible 'pet supermarket ~Pet World ' which I am glade to say have since gone out of business!(her and her 4 brothers were not in a very good state ,and had upset stomachs)
I do hope that someone can help me or give me some device
meny thanks
Prim xx
ps. I live in Kent ,or the edge of south east London

As Oushi is 6 years old, and not of good breeding, then it would not be a good idea to breed from her, due to her age, and also due to the fact that her pedigree well may not be strictly accurate, as she came from a puppy farm. Reputable breeders do not sell to pet shops, and a reputable Stud dog owner would not find your bitch an acceptable mate, as the reason for breeding should always be to improve the breed!

Do not take offence, I am sure she has become an excellent pet despite her poor start!! :) I have a cousin who purchased a year old Samoyed dog with only one testicle from its breeder, for quite a decent sum of money(so had to have him castrated). He is adorable, but looks more like a white GSD than a Samoyed, and looking at his pedigree he has only one known kennel right at the top of the fifth generation. He is likely the result of generations of breeding without much knowledge or underatanding of the breed standard. He is long in body, at least 26 inches tall, and carries his tail low!

I would contact the Kennnel Club on Tel 0870 606 6750 and ask for the phone number of the Samoyed breed Club/s. They will be able to put you in touch with a reputable breeder who is planning or has a litter!

Good Luck :)

Welcome to the forum Prim.

There is so much to take into consideration before you breed a litter :-) You might find this information on breeding of interest. If you decide that breeding is not for you, then take a look at our Samoyed Information. I am sure that someone there can recommend a breeder or litter to you.
