Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / Is he doing it for attention?
- By TracyL [gb] Date 20.12.03 18:20 UTC
Hi everyone
Sparky has now started to bite himself really hard when me, mum or my sister aren't playing with him or fussing him. Why is he doing this, and is it just for attention? I'm scared he might rip his fur off or something!
Thanks
Sian

Think you should get the vet to look at him, could be a habit but why did it start. Where abouts is he biting himself and how old is he.

Hello Sian.
Everyone will think we never speak to each other in person!
It's time to give Sparky his flea treatment, and we probably need to have his anal glands checked again, though I'd be surprised if this is the problem as it's less than two weeks since he had them done, isn't it? Have you noticed he also does this more when he's tired out after a walk or a long play session and ready for bed? Perhaps he might just get a bit "Ratty" from time to time?

Have to agree with Mum if it is the hip area he is chewing, if it is his feet it may be something different and then the vets should look.
