Woah!!!  What a film!  If you saw the first two (and liked 'em) you just have to see this one...It was an amazing film, sore bum cheeks though :D

I wish I had watched the two towers again just before the third but I forgot!  Nevertheless it all came back...You aint seen battle scenes like it - Dont mean to sound like a geek (:D) but I actually found myself on the edge of my seat - Enjoy Lesley...Enjoy

Oh my god! Im so exited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (possibly seeing it on Monday night!) Is it better than the first 2? Was the cinema really busy?
Sara
- By Rozzer [gb] Date 18.12.03 22:14 UTC
Oooh it were packed!  Luckily I know a manager at Showcase cinema's so I was able to get in early and bag a good seat ;) - There was eight of us all in all, its been tradition now for the last two years :D - Out of them all I cant really decide...But I watched the first so many times!  Return of the king was brill but in a different way to the others - the scenery and effects are truly breath taking (oh my god, I am sounding like a geek :D) Quick you have to go see it I cant give any away....Personally I love the second and the third...Ooh...Cant decide....:D
- By LF [gb] Date 18.12.03 22:15 UTC
Sarah and Sara, I actually went to see the first one on sufferance to please the other half!  And was totally blown away by it!!  It seems this last one will also be released as an extended version next year on DVD :D  Sarah, do we also have to take a big box of tissues with us to the cinema?  I'm more excited about LOTR on Boxing Day than Christmas Day itself!  Oh, and are there massed ranks of elves in this one ;)

Lesley
- By SaraN [gb] Date 18.12.03 22:28 UTC
Apparently when all 3 come out together on DVD extended versions (I think!) make up 12 hours all together! I feel a LOTR day coming on :D .....oh no! don't ask if we need tissues! I don't want anything given away about the ending as I have no clue! Oh im so exited... Just cant get over how sexy Gollum is!
- By lel [gb] Date 18.12.03 22:40 UTC
Just got back from seeing this :D and WASNT disappointed at all :D
Agree about having sore bum though - those seats are so uncomfy for long periods and theres  no where to put your legs .
I thought the end was a bit long but that is the only criticism .
And Aragon is just so FIT!!!! ;)
Definately recommend everyone to see it!!
- By LF [gb] Date 18.12.03 22:56 UTC
Don't worry Sara, I don't know anything about the ending either :)  I just asked about tissues cos I had seen that Liv Tyler had said she had blubbed a lot watching the completed film!!! Ha! Never mind how sexy Gollum (and I have to question that one Sara!!!!!!!) and Aragon might be, what about Legolas :D

Lesley
- By Steph33 [gb] Date 25.12.03 14:10 UTC
Legolas????  Now you're talking ;)  hehe.  He is just gorgeous..big ears and all.
I only got into the LOTR cos of my youngest...now the entire family are addicted to the films.  We saw the Return of the King, the day before Christmas Eve...cinema was packed, we had crap seats (right at the front, to the side of the screen), and I was gagging for a fag....but the film was absolutely fantastic...we even ended up forgetting we were in a crap seating position.  Beautiful scenery, brilliant battles, fantastic everything.......and best of all - Legolas !!!  hehe :D
Highly recommend it :)
- By Brainless [gb] Date 18.12.03 23:04 UTC
I want to see all 3 on one day at the pictures.  would have to be a specfial event with refreshments between!!! :D
- By EMMA DANBURY [gb] Date 19.12.03 10:43 UTC
mmm sounds really good.  Other half and myself are going to do a lord of the rings marathon and watch them on DVD (when they are all out).  Might even make it a costume affair and invite fellow weirdies and have a BBQ on a hot summers day.
- By SaraN [gb] Date 19.12.03 13:15 UTC
I'm getting so jealous of all these people that have seen it now! I really must go see it on Monday! Oh no not Legolas, to me he seems he would like him and Grimly to be a lot more than friends! (te hehe, only joking!) I think a LOTR party would be great! (would be very long though!) ARG! I really want to see it!!!!!!!
- By Rozzer [gb] Date 19.12.03 17:28 UTC
How about Aragon AND Legolas ;) :D - One for rough...The other for pretty??
- By Steph33 [gb] Date 25.12.03 14:14 UTC
Oh yes, wouldn't mind a bit of Aragon rough, and Legolas for the attractiveness ;)
I'm not usually into pretty boys/men, but there's just something about Legolas......or even Orlando Bloom.  Certainly wouldn't kick him out of bed on a cold morning ;)
- By Lorelei [gb] Date 19.12.03 20:45 UTC
Gollum, sexy ? :D  Stinkfoot wants to adopt him and knit him jumpers! This disturbs us, Precious, oh yesssss!
- By SaraN [gb] Date 19.12.03 21:22 UTC
He really does need some clothes, the poor dear must be freezing at Christmas! (Cant see why he wants the ring so much.... that will never keep him warm!:D) So... who is the sexiest person in Lord of the rings everybody?
- By LF [gb] Date 19.12.03 22:28 UTC
The sexiest one for me has to be Legolas, even though he's a pretty boy!!  I just love the way he runs up and down hills without even breaking sweat, gazes off into the distance and says something profound like "blood has been spilled this night" and then takes out 57 Orc with one arrow :D  Poor Gollum, I think Stinkfoot should be encouraged to knit him a jumper and if he can't find the ring, he can always have Cadmus' Precious, which he has had since he was a pup :)

Aragorn...by far!
Ooh, he is totally gorgeous. Hubby made me go to watch the first one, and I went along prepared for battle after battle and goblins galore...then I saw Aragorn in the Prancing Pony for the first time and...er...wow! He looks best when he is wet and battered. I took my mother and two sister to see the first one at the pics after hubby had gone back to work. I just watched their faces when he came on screen; mother nearly dropped her popcorn!! :)
The door bursting scene in the Two Towers is a particular favourite, you know when Aragorn comes back to Helms Deep battered and bleeding and we get treated to slo-mo Aragorn dripping and powerful! Ahh, I need to watch ROTK again.
If you haven't seen it girls here is a bit to look out for...

... LOOK AT ARAGORN WHEN HE JUMPS OVER THE SIDE OF THE SHIP! HUNKY DORY! :)
- By Lily Mc [gb] Date 22.12.03 14:05 UTC
Know what you mean about the ship bit ;)

And watched Two Towers again on Saturday before going to see ROTK last night - you're right about the bit where he bursts through the doors too.

Oh ........ good film too :D

Definitely Aragorn :D (although Viggo Mortensen blonde in real life does nothing for me) - agree that the more battered and rough he looks, the better.

Legolas is too pretty for me, although Orlando did improve in Pirates of the Caribbean.

We're watching the extended DVD of The Two Towers tonight, then off to see Return of the King tomorrow.

Certainly wouldn't kick Aragorn out of my bed :O
- By Jo19 [gb] Date 19.12.03 23:45 UTC
Mmmm, Legolas ...  :D
- By LF [gb] Date 19.12.03 23:50 UTC
:) Tracy, is the scene in the Prancing Pony the one where Aragon has his face covered by his hood? :D

Lesley
- By Tracyhf1 [gb] Date 20.12.03 00:25 UTC
Oh yes! (mfgghhh...faints)
- By Lorelei [gb] Date 20.12.03 10:29 UTC
My faves are the Riders of Rohan - Aragorn is a bit intense for me. All those big hairy men tearing about on horses.... ooh er! Theyve done a great job with the book.
- By Lindsay Date 22.12.03 18:43 UTC
I think Aragorn is gorgeous and just what i like in a man :D but, i have to say i was completely blown away by Legolas running for miles and then mounting his horse the way he did in the last film ...... :D . The way he just swung up there from almost under the horse's neck was fantastic!!!! LOL!!!  real strength and a man of steel under that blonde exterior, i say.

Sensitive but tough. Oh my!!! ;)

Lindsay (who can't wait to see The Return of the King).
- By LF [gb] Date 22.12.03 18:52 UTC
I know exactly what you mean Lindsay, we watched The Two Towers again yesterday and the bit with the horse was great - so great that I had to run the dvd back and watch it again! Told the other half I was just admiring the athleticism of the manouvre :D

Only four more sleeps to go until we go to see TROTK.  Yipeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

Lesley
- By Jo19 [gb] Date 24.12.03 01:02 UTC
Saw TROTK at the weekend ... God, I so want to marry Legolas. And Aragorn. And the Riders of Rohan. :D
- By Lorelei [gb] Date 24.12.03 11:21 UTC
Polyandry isnt all its cracked up to be Jo - imagine all those wet leathers hanging about and the lads insisting on bringing horses into the bedroom/living room. Urk. Then if Legolas was round at the same time as Aragorn theyd spend all their time telling elvish war stories and youd be ignored until the mead ran out....

Lorelei (wishing she could be romantic instead of practical)
- By Jo19 [gb] Date 25.12.03 00:29 UTC
:D :D :D @ Lorelei

Yes, but .... Mmmm, Legolas ....

Sorry, that's the only sensible thing I have to say on the matter. :D
- By sandy salisbury [gb] Date 25.12.03 11:46 UTC
But what about the mature, older man with all that experience and ability to make everything magical? Gandalf and his wand are a winner!!!!
;) Sandy
- By LF [gb] Date 26.12.03 09:16 UTC
One hour to go - Yipee :D  As Jo says, Mmmm - Legolas :)

Lesley
- By sashadee [gb] Date 26.12.03 17:19 UTC
Went to see LOTR last fri absolutely brill, Good battle scenes. Aragon for me though facial hair doesnt usually do it for me. but Mmmmmm.
- By Jo19 [gb] Date 28.12.03 00:59 UTC
Gandalf???! Sandy, you should be ashamed. :D On the other hand, I suppose that means there's less competition ...

LF - hope Orlando didn't disappoint. :D :D :D

I wonder if Orlando is a dog lover? Just think, he could be a member of Champdogs and lurking as we type. Mmmmm, wonderful thought ...  :D
- By LF [gb] Date 28.12.03 05:16 UTC
Now there's a thought Jo :D  And he didn't disappoint either!  When the lights came up there was popcorn all round us on the floor which I reckon came from me missing my mouth every time he came on screen :D  Strangely enough, we had Pirates of the Carribean on DVD over Christmas and he did nowt for me in that!

The other half went a bit slack jawed and drooly when Arwen appeared, but a sharp dig in the ribs soon sorted that out :D  The film was fantastic, can't wait until the extended DVD comes out :)

Lesley
- By KateL [ch] Date 28.12.03 11:59 UTC
We want to go and see it soon (no no, make that need not want). I have seen the other two, and also have the DVD's.  Legolas isn't bad, but Aragorn does it for me. :D

- By Rozzer [gb] Date 29.12.03 20:17 UTC
Now I totally agree LF - I thought Legolas at first but I saw black hawk down and Pirates of the carribean and he didn't do as much for me in that - I think his head is a weird shape :D....It's the blonde wig for me!!!  Aragorn grew on me but not a fan of the beard at end of ROTK :D !
Sarah
- By Cava14Una Date 28.12.03 11:33 UTC
Don't know about Orlando but Elijah Wood has Beardies
                                                                        Anne

LOL @ Jo19 - greedy or what!?
Aragorn for me, preferably unshaven, dirty and wind ruffled....................cor
