My Gran passed away peacefully this morning, we are all upset but also relieved as she has been off her drip for over a week and every day was a miracle.  My problem is this, I have 6 cousins and a brother and I have volunteered to write an obituary for the local paper on behalf of all of us, I know what to say but I just dont know how to put it.  We all loved Gran and learnt so much from her, some of us spent more time with her than others because we lived nearer but she was muched loved by us all.  How do I put this into words ??  im so stuck and it has to be in to the papers first thing tomorrow.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Claire :(

I'm sorry to hear about your Gran. I remember when mine died, how I felt that one of the rocks on which our family was based was no longer there. I've no idea what you can put in the obit, but if you make an outline of the facts, when and where she was born, what she did in the War, etc, it might spark some ideas. Of course say how much she was loved by all the family, no matter how far away geographically, you were close in spirit.

Good luck with it.

Sorry to hear of your Gran's death. It might help to imagine you are telling someone about her and write as you speak. It dosent need  to be dressed up, just honest and loving.

Thanks for your replies.  In the end I just wrote a couple of sentences - lucky I did, that alone cost £33
