Toby is a very big 9month old lab, i have had trouble getting xmas toys for him, most of the xmas toys for dogs are either too small or not very strong and he would eat them in 5 mins, has anyone managed to get xmas toys for big dogs if so could you please tell me were.

The Company of Animals site also does toys that are pretty indestructible.
I too asked a very similar question a few days ago and one person (sorry, can't remember name!) suggested getting a coconut - apparently her dogs love them and they're pretty indestructible (the coconuts that is...not the dogs! ;-))
Next time I go to Tesco, I'm going to see if I can get a couple for my Staffs.

What a good idea!
coconuts yes that is a good idea, thankyou all for your help but by xmas presents i mean with santa,s or reindeer on them, they sell ones for smaller dogs but not for big boys, :)

i thought coconuts were deadly for dogs because they contain the same chemical as chocolate starts wth T cant think of the name ......

You don't open the coconut, Gina, so they can't eat it! Just give it over whole! They have a lovely time ripping off the hairy husk, and it rolls erratically when played with - I give one to a litter of pups.
:)
although i think coconuts are a good idea, if ginastarr is right about the chemical thing the way Toby crashes about I can imagine him cracking it open,

i actually think it is the shell and outside of the coconut that is the problem i read somewhere it was a warning to dog owners not to use coconut mulch in their gardens because it is lethal for dogs ........
will see if i can find more when i told my father about it he agreed that it is very dangerous ...

Gina, it's not
coconut mulch which is dangerous, but
cocoa mulch, from cocoa (chocolate) beans! You've got the wrong end of the stick here!
i know i am going off the subject but are raisins dangerous for dogs i heard someone last week saying it and i am really worried because my dog mollie absolutley loves them help ........
