Topic Dog Boards / Health / Shortening a season

I'm sure my 18 month old beagle is going to come into season in the next few days. She had her last season exactly 6 months ago. Her vulva is swollen and her behaviour has changed exactly like it did last time. This is obviously her second season. We are going away for New Year and also going to a dog show. I was wondering whether we can give her anything to shorten the season so we don't have to leave her behind.
If there is anything, is it advisable or should i let nature run its course.

If she were mine I would be very reluctant to interfere. I would change my plans. Sorry.

I can arrange somewhere for her to stay its only two nights. I just wondered as i didn't really want to leave her.

I wouldn't start messing around with her hormones, you don't know what the long term effects might be.
