Hi All

I havent posted for a while, but this is a question about my 2 pups. I was always brought up in the knowledge that bum scraping was caused by worms, but since joining this site i have learned taht it can be associated with anal glands. Are there any other symptoms to look out for or can this just also be a habit. My 2 pups are 5 1/2 months old and seem to always do it. They have been wormed regularloy and last time was last week wormed and flead at the same time. But they seem to constantly do this, it is not at any particular time and i find it hard to belive that they would both have anal gland problems at the same time... Mum does not do this and never has... So sorry to ramble but what would you all suggest???

Can all so just be a cleaning practice, I have a bitch that has been doing it all her life, which is fine by me as long as it is on the grass and not the carpet but when she choose's the concreat it makes my eyes water. And if ,as she did once, it is in the Best in Show ring it is enough to put you off showing for life.

That is interesting Jackie, I have a bitch that does it too.  Have ruled out anal glands and worms but have never worked out why she does it.

Luckily she has only done it outside the ring not in it :D I did get some strange looks though :D

This bitch is now 10years old never had a anal glad problem or any other intestinal problem and her poo is always of the type you could play golf with, but she has always 'wiped' her bottom after defecating. Usually she does it round in circles but on the occasion in the ring it was all the way up the rubber mat. :O
