Well I`m feeling very sad today folks, a male I bred just over 4yrs ago has been returned to me today. His owners are in their 60`s & have a 2 sons in Peru & daughters in UK & they have decided to sell up here & buy a flat IN UK & Peru & spend half the time between each country & couldn`t take Jo or the 8yr boxer, Frank. They told me in October & I`ve been looking at a possible new homes for him but have decided it`s to near Xmas so will be better for him to stay here with me till after New yr.
He`s a great dog, very boisterous & full of life but I was saddened to learn that he had been living outside in kennels with Frank, they used to have him inside & when I saked why they changed it they said because both dogs prefered it. But last Xmas when they were both boarding here Frank the boxer attacked Jo, no harm done but was nasty & now found out it`s happened a few times & always Frank attacking Jo who didn`t retaliate.
I have a big kennel at the back(its Rex`s really but he`s never in there!) next to where my other dogs are & I`m going to put him there & see how it goes.
Just feeling down cos Jo`s lost his home really.

Sorry to hear your sad news about Jo. At least he's back with you, and hopefully you'll be able to find him a good permanent home very soon.

Thanks Liberty, I`m sure I`ll find him somewhere nice in the new yr. It was very nice of them to bring him back tho, they said it was cos I`d said in the begining bring him home if anything ever happened & they remembered :) He`s munching on a juicy big bone at the mo & I`ll feed him soon then bring him in the back.
Think it must be the season, I always get a bit weepy at xmas.

They did the right thing bringing him back to you. I'm sure you'll find him somewhere ideal in the new year, 4 year olds are great as they've passed the worst behavior and are steady dogs with a good few years left in them. :)

Poor fella :(
Wish you both good luck in sorting out his new home :)
Thanks Guys :)
The kennel he`s in was the one I used as the daytime run when he was a pup, he settled down straight away & I swear he remembers, not heard a peep all night either :D
I`m sure things will work out, I just felt a bit of a failure really & got upset but I don`t think anyone could have forseen this happening, after all people usually retire over here not the other way round eh? ;)

friend of mine just had back a 5year fc back, abit like your story,he was kept outside, the breeder took him back and has found a nice home for him in the comfort of a nice warm home.
it will work out for you,you find another home for him.
take care

Ahh I am sure Jo will soon find a new home :)
At least they brought him back to you :)
No, you're certainly not a failure Christine, just the opposite. They remembered what you said and felt comfortable enough to bring him back to you. They must have felt that you care for your dogs and that's a big credit to you. :)

Kath and LJS have said it all for me :) :)
Gina :p
Aww thanks so much, you`ve all cheered me up no end :)
Yesterday he went out with the girls & you should have seen him, he went running around like a loon :D They were playing & chasing him, he had a couple of seconds being unsure & then said oh yes! This is what lifes about & joined in the fun :D
He had a bit of a loose tum in the afternoon but nothing more & he`s settled in really well :)
It amazes me how quickly dogs can adapt.

I can understand you feeling sad, I would too, but then I think it is because I cannot imagine the circumstances where I would give my girls up, but know not everyone is the same with their dogs. But they remembered you saying that you would rehome him if they ever needed you to and brought him back to you. So you know he is safe and happy and after christmas I am sure you will find him a lovely new home. Dogs adapt to new homes very well :O)
Jo`s doing really well, day before yesterday I let him loose out the back with the others & it went very well so yesterday I let him in the house with the others & he was fine :) Apart from being a little nervous & a bit unsure of himself at first that is. Mind my lot are not exactly the shy retiring kind either but all in all no problems. I wasn`t going to let him loose with the others as it didn`t seem worth it, but then thought well I know what my lot are like so theres no reason why he shouldn`t be the same really so I gave it a go :)
Think I`ll give it a bit more time before I let him out the front with them all tho just to be on the safe side, at the mo he only goes out there with the girls, isn`t he the lucky one! :D
