I took Beaus staples out yesterday after being in there for 12 days.(she needed them a little longer) But it wasnt completely closed. The bottom layers were. It was just the top part which was showing flesh. If i hadnt taken them out, the skin would have grown completely over them. (it was already growing around the staple) Is she still able to contract infection even with just a little bit open?

Yes and unless the wound has healed completely there is a chance that it will 'unzip'.

You do need a vet to check on the wound as it could open up and if no one is there with her when it happend she would be in a right state so please get the vet to look at it to make sure
