I know this must sound stupid but does anyone know of any good kennels in the Edinburgh area.  I am going on holiday next year and have nobody to look after my dog who will be a 1 1/2.  This is my first dog and he is like the baby also do they get stressed out when we go away want him to be happy so we can enjoy ourselves, the holiday was booked before we got him.

Sorry not my area, but as you've got plenty of time, why don't you go around some of the kennels in yellow pages in your area. Any good kennels will be happy to let you look around. One of my dogs goes into kennels every year & he drags us up to the kennels when we get there! He's always pleased to come home, but if you leave yours from when he is young in a good kennels, he'll be fine. Have you tried asking at your vets? Don't think they will actually recommend, but may well point you in the right direction. Don't feel guilty about leaving him - you're entitled to a break, but don't leave it until the last minute to book - good kennels get booked up early & remember he'll have to have up to date innocultations to get into a reputable kennels.

I use Barking Mews just outside Edinburgh in West Lothian. I have been useing them for about 12 years and they are great.
