Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / 6th Place Champ Show?????
- By Guest [gb] Date 13.12.03 14:58 UTC
Yesterday my dog was given 6th place in open border collie at LKA I have never seen this before can someone tell me why this happend, it was a class of 13 dogs.

We were very pleased as it was a stunning class, but just curious as to why the judge would have given a 6th place, he didn't in the pevious classes.

Be glad of your comments

There are 7 at crufts in open. It is not uncommon at breed club shows to have VHC, HC and plain commended. That is 7 awards per class but it is not that common at other shows, in fact it is uncommon.

Take it as a compliment from the judge.
I would guess that it was such a good class & the judge felt your dog was worthy of a place, therefore asking you to join the line-up.

Well done.  :)

I didn't notice him do that.  Very strange, there were 28 in my class and he only went the VHC, Must have thought the open had such good quality dogs in it, which it did.

Well done

If there was a card handed out it would not have been the judge that decided it would have been the show committee. As I said at Crufts there are 7 places given but only in the open class.

I think if the dog was placed 6th in the line up, the judge felt he was worthy of being put there, weather a card was given or not is unimportant. the fact is... he was placed 6th.  :) It's the judges opinion on the day that counts.
