Toby is 9 months now, we love him so much, i thought i was the soppy one but the other day my husband phoned from work and asked me to put Toby on the phone :D :D :D  i did so and Toby just looked at the phone, i think he couldnt make it out that he could hear daddy but he wasnt there,
of corse i told everyone even his work mates :D :D :D

:)
We did this when Gus was smaller until it became a bit of nuisance as he used to race to the phone after that and make a nuisance of himself (even when it wasnt for him )

Hi

I believe this to be very normal behaviour in most dog familys.  I often spend a night away from my dog and speak to her on the phone when she was younger she would her my voice then run to the front door thinking I was there.

Now don't laugh :D years ago when I was at home and wne abroad for the first time without the family. I left a tape recording of my voice for Sam and Gypsy. For my parents to play to them in the evening.

Karen thats so thoughtful. Glad to hear people love their dogs. I tuck mine in for the night by shaking up his bedding, fixing his blanket over the basket and drawing the curtains over doors and windows to exclude the draughts. I even switch off the light and say " Goodnight Morse, see you in the morning for breakfast" like the kids. :D

I always ask to speak to mine when im away from them :)
I always kiss them goodbye and tell them i love them :)
I say goodnight and in the morning i ask them if they want a cup of tea...
I guess i love my dogs... people at work think im mad because every sunday as regular as clockwork i take charlie to a healing centre to be healed...

Mine always start playing and being loud when I'm on the phone :(

But I do tuck them in before bed, I even wrap Tiva up in her blanket (the other's are in kennels with big comforters and say goodnight.

our dogs know....
when im getting ready, if i put on my uniform for work taz always sits watching me sulking.
If i've got normal clothes on and i put my shoes on he follows me all around the house whining. I take this to be --please mum can i come??--
very often he comes everywhere with me, but when i have to go alone, i get to the door turn to him amd say, sorry mate you can't come today- mummy won't be long i love you, and he gets kisses too.
he gets kisses and an i love you before he goes to sleep, and we chat on the phone when we're apart.
Funny thing is i'm convinced he knows. Cuz when you say i love you he gives you a big kiss XX

I always talk to beau on the phone if i have to leave for days at a time. Even dad calls to talk to her. I thought it was a little weird at first, but now i am so used to it...=)
