They don't scratch?? I am absolutely appalled at that comment. Cats need to scratch to keep their claws in good condition. My cat has been trained to scratch only her scratching post, I would never dream of denying her that basic right.

It's like saying my dogs don't wag their tails because they bang things. If owning animals and meeting their emotional needs is such an inconvenience to you, then perhaps you shouldn't have any.

jackie were both getting no where .
probably  99% of the public would know you shouldent let a dog lick your mouth .some people take looking/caring after animals to far ,these people showed there sites telling us but who were they made  by . if there have been case's in the newspaper or on the news im sure they havent made these things up.. supose this is one of those agree to disagree subjects.

Oh and about my cats yes they are trained not to eat anything that isent theres or walk on the worktops they dont even scratch and i said that there just as clever , and im right a cat isent stupid enough to be told what to do . it simply does what its told in the home because it knows where the foods coming from. but walking in and out of poles what for it ?? pff bugger that .is probably what its thinking. cats simply arent as loyal as dogs they use there brains and will go else where if its getting better food somewhere else.

Quite frankly, if you have cats that wouldnt eat food left out, then you are in cloud cuckoo land.
Cats do indeed know where their next meal is coming from, and you will find thats any house with a cat flap, any bin with a chicken carcass hanging out of it, and any tray with half a portion of haddock in batter left in the street.

Dont believe me, withhold food from your cats for 24 hours, they wont go hungry, cats are FAR too intelligent for that!

Now why dont you and JR go back to sniggering in the playground whilst the rest of us rational, intelligent and sane people carry on enjoying our dogs, LICKS AND ALL!

And cats, mine are the most ignorant creatures i know, they have no value for small animal life, they DO scavenge, EVEN though they are fed, and treat this place like a hotel...but never mind yours are perfect..so yours cant be normal
As i said i hope you have trained the not to poop in other peoples gardens..as theres nothing worse than finding other peoples cats poop in your own garden...and i hope you have trained them not to go hunting when they go out...as that causes germs...nothing worse than the germs from a dead rat, mouse, or bird.
My cats dont do as they are told, infact they do the complete opposite that i tell them, but you are perfect... sorry i forgot.
And your cats dont have all the bad habits other peoples cats seem to have so your cats must be outsmarting you girl...err sorry lady.
Animal lover i am, foolish to belive my cats dont have bad habits i am not, but i promise to have a chat with them all over a coffee this morning and point out the new rules of the house im sure they will not understand but they are cats after all :D

Gosh Lovelady, do you really believe what you read in newspapers? If you do you must be very young, most of us learn in Junior School to assess the written word and know full well that apart from the price most of what is written in newspapers and magazines is total rubbish.

If you really want to keep up you will have to read the appropriate scientific papers and attend lectures on the subject you are interested in. Even then you have to take a subjective view, and weigh one piece of information against another. You can start by reading and then thinking about what people write on the forum, between them there are years of experience and specialists in all fields both canine and human, no university could offer better tutors. Of course, you don't have to agree with everything you read but you do have to think about it and if you don't agree have a properly researched argument, then we will all be happy to listen to you.
