does anyone know a good treatment for travel sickness? my little girl has started throwing up in the car if we're travelling for more than 10 minutes. i've seen some herbal tablets in the petshop but am a bit skeptical about them, has anyone tried them with success ?

i don't know if it's the motion or just her stressing, we've tried having her in her crate, and also in the boot, she has a duvet and blanket and her favourite toy with her

We have tried various sicky things for our GSD
Ginger biscuits, rubber mating, herbel remedies, travel sick tablets, newspaper and none have worked so when we went on holiday to the Orkneys we had to get tablets from the vets, they worked a treat. I think it is something they will just grow out of. My GSD is now 8 months and still does it even if we starve her the night before.
You will just have to grin and bear it or take your dog on very short journeys to get used to the feeling of the car.

Hi Sarah,

The very best way to sort out travel sickness is a de-sensitisation programme (which takes a long time and a lot of patience - but works very well), you need to combine this with some remedies such a:-

Cocculus (homeopathic)
Rescue Remedy (bach flower remedies)
Fresh Parsley hung in the car

You need to get her used to the car slowly while it is stationary and until she is happy and not dribbling with that, slowly (and I mean slowly) progres to turning the engine on and off and then moving a tiny bit and slowly more and more and then round the block and then further etc etc and at this stage, try to end every journey with a walk.

Good luck
