I am planning to breed my Border Terrier bitch in Jan/Feb 2004, and am looking for an available stud dog in the Hampshire/Surrey area. Can anyone help, please? Thanks, in anticipation.

Cathy, you need to have a word with your bitches breeder, the last thing you need to consider in a stud is where it lives. Your bitches breeder should be able to suggest a stud that would be suitable to mate with your bitch and also to tell you if your bitch is suitable to be mated.

How old is your bitch and Why do you want to start to breed? HAve you ask yourself if you can keep the youngs when you can not sell them? You might understand that some of the pups do and will end up coming back to you or with luck they end up in RSPCA's. I have looked here in the breeders list. UK is a small island and i can see and count on so many fingers that there are nearly more people out who do breed dogs then normal household familie's.
Hi Cathy,
I agree that while the area should not be your priority, and assuming your Border Terrier has passed all its health tests, I know of an advanced agility dog that also has done well in breed shows, I think it holds a CC. If you let me know your details I will email you.

Surely the poster should be researching the bitches pedigree (aswell as having health checks done)and finding a dog with a compatible pedigree not just advertising for any old stud!!
Approach you bitches breeder or speak to the breed club after she has passed her health test
