Hello,
I have 2 puppies both 14 weeks old, both sisters, mastiff/sheppard/lab. When they sleep they sleep on eachother or right by eachother. I have watched them sleep and Emma breathes fine, she breathes normal but August on the other hand breathes 2 or 3 times faster than Emma.. what is going on?? She does this all the time! Is this bad? Or is this normal?? Thank you!

Have had puppies do that and I believe it to be normal.

I have a standard poodle and noticed the same thing with him. I took him to the vet and they told me that all dogs breathe in different patterns and not to worry. That was 5 years ago he still does this, so I guess the vet was right. He does only do this when hes sleeping. If this is something that is really bothering you then take your dog in, if anything just to reasure yourself that your dog is ok.

Thanks for assuring me its ok for my pup to breathe fast when they're sleeping. I have noticed that August does it on and off! Thank you guys!!
Happy Holidays!
