Hi all
Just have to tell people this!
I went to france on a college trip on monday and visited one of those big superstore places. Went into a pet shop there and saw puppies in tiny glass cages :( made me feel sick! there was one Retriever there and he cant have been 5 weeks old, he looked so sad. There were also yorkies and a springer spaniel. It was awful, wish I could have brought them all home :(

I remember seeing a similar arrangement in a big UK store some years ago, so it's not just the French....
Funny how the French generally spoil their dogs more than we do (or should I say 'pamper!) and let you take them into restauraunts and other places we can't take them in the UK, and yet sell them in this way!

thank God we are different to the French, who on earth would want to take their dog into a restauraunt anyway!.

I don't see what's so awful about taking a dog into a restaurant

Depends on the dog, if its a well mannered dog then not a problem but if its a dog which isnt very obedient, and begs and drools that would certainly put me off my food -- might help with my diet I suppose :D :D

This may come as a shock but dogs are animals and not substitute people. Can you imagine eating a meal with a Bull Mastiff sitting at the table next to you drooling, licking its privates and f*rting! no thanks.

Corso Girl,
I once owned a great BullMastiff called Madie, she could drool like you would not believe, where does it all come from.

Most dogs would be better behaved in a restaurant than several children I know (and adults!)

My little girl Regan is 3 years old has eaten in restaurants all of her life, she sits still eats with both knife and fork and never makes a fuss, as long as the meal does not drag on for hours she is fine. not all kids are little monsters.

My son was (and still is!) just the same, Whistleblower, but not everybody trains their children as well as we do! Some make eating out a misery.

How do children learn if they have no experience of such things. I have a friend who has two children, the oldest is 10 years old and up untill a few years ago had not even been to the seaside, can you believe that! 7years old and had only seen pictures of the sea.All this child does is play on his computer, he is a monster with no social skills what so ever.

Like dogs, children learn what they are taught. I've seen people around who seem to think that their children (and dogs) will learn good manners automatically.
Wrong!! It's hard work!
