I have an 8 week old pup due to go to its new owner today, but discovered last night that the pup had come out in a rash/red lumps.  Not sure if it has taken a reaction to something or whether it has an actual skin condition.  The pup is healthy and energetic enough, so it doesn't seem to be affecting it and it isn't itchy.

I called the vet last night and they told me that it should be up to the new owner to take the pup to the vet, but I don't think this is correct, as I want to make sure the pup is healthy before it goes.  The rash/lumps weren't as red this morning, so do you think it could be a reaction to something?  The breed is prone to taking reactions and the mother had one 4 weeks ago which looked like this, but cleared up within a couple of hours.

I don't think you should pass on the problem! Obviously you want the puppy to 100% when it leaves you - doesn't do anything for your reputation to do otherwise. Don't know what breed you've got or what the rash is like, but some puppies do have a sort of "nappy rash". Whatever it is, you need to get it sorted before the puppy goes to its new home.

What are you washing their bedding in?  Sometimes a bio washing powder can cause an allergic reaction, try washing it in non bio if you are not already.

Just a thought
