Why is it that no matter where i go or how long, Beau will NOT eat or drink water and she gets very sad. Is this normal? She seems to get derpressed very easily.....

Let me rephrase that, she doesnt get DEPRESSED but she gets sad. Ever since her surgery, i cant go anywhere without her crying or following me everywhere. I cant even go to the bathroom. Maybe she doesnt want to be left alone.

Has she had any pain relief?  When my dog was speyed she'd behave like that when she was due more pain relief......

Her vet didnt give me any meds for her. He gave her 2 shots before we left. An anti inflammatory and antibiotics. Maybe it is just the most pain she has been in for the longest time..?????

And she has also been feeling (at leats acting like it) a lot better.

you didnt get any tablets to take away with you???
Not even painkillers, eg Rimadyl.

No, he gave her some shots and said she would be ok. Is this bad? She is doing ok, but her wound looks a little gross.....

When my bitches have been spayed, they were given (at the vet's) a long-lasting painkiller and antibiotic shot, and I was given a few days supply of antibiotic tablets to give them from the next day. The woundshould stay dry, pale and unswollen. Anything else would ring the alarm bells...

Many vets don't believe in pain killers as pain is natures way of keeping a dog quiet and allowing the healing process - but if you can manage the dog so they don't go nuts (ie keep quiet and not excitment, ALL excercise (even in the garden) on a lead) until the stiches come out (usually about 10 days) then IMHO there is no need for the dog to go through the pain.
Wounds do sometimes look 'raw' -but there should be no heat and redness around it, and def no discharge - if there is take her back to the vets.

Our girl wasn't given painkillers either, she was given a shot which was to last till the morning after then we had to do just gentle lead walking (which was the hardest part) for 5 days then have her stitches out 2 days later.
There should be no problems aslong as she isn't licking it.
