Please can someone give me some advice.  My boyfriend and I have just bought are first dog together.  We looked on numerous websites before deciding on getting a standard Schnauzer.  I bought a 5 month old pup called boots, but the problem is house training him!  I have done everything that people have said on this website.  But after taking him out and praising him he will still come back in the house and go to the toilet, even if has already been!  As I have never had a dog I am grateful of any help!

If he has got to 5 months and not been trained he will be used to going where he stands, I think you have to continue as if he was a small puppy but it may well take longer and he has learned. Have not had experiance of this may be some one who has will be along to help you soon.
