Well just to take part in the 'fun', I will go for Bedlington Terrier, in support of the person who I know has worked so hard to get to Crufts. The chap actually works for my husband and is away from home all week (entirely my husbands fault) and Mrs Chap is not very happy at all, apparently it's quite a busy time at the moment....so the least I can do is support here!

Hi all, Im cheating a bit, but after seeing the group tonight( at least Im telling the truth :) ) I think it will be the WHFT

I don't want my breed to win either as its great they are still fairly rare (not as rare as they should be though after Watchdog) Weimaraners are not an easy breed for a novice!!! I know - I was a novice when I had my first one!!!!
I'll go for a Pointer (English as opposed to GSP)

My guess is the Schipperke.
For no reson really just like the dogs.

Date 27.02.02 22:38 UTC
Sorry Heelerkay it's not going to be a schipperke (unless of course it's one of my Tailed babies lol) believe me we rarely get past group let alone into the Best in Show ring and like all the others don't want the breed becoming too popular for obvious reason.
The breed did well last year with a few of us getting BPIS, RBPIS and BIS, RBIS at open level but I think the best we did all year in the Group at Champ level was a 4th placing for Mystical at Crufts.

Hi, although its not one of my favourite breeds I still think it could well be the Peke, Dangerous Liason. I thought the Irish Setter in the final line up last year was very unfortunate not to win, but even if he/she is there this year I still think it will be the Peke. He has won so much the past 12 months. Out of interest did anyone see the TV programme a couple of years ago which focussed on his owners whose bitch was filmed whelping a litter, I have always wondered whether one of these puppies was the same dog mentione above. SAdly I wont be coming to Crufts after all, I have just come out out hospital, and have to go back next week. Ugh, something ALWAYS stops me - I am so glad I haven't qualified anything, that really would be a tragedy!!

I think it will be the peke Ch. Yankee A Dangerous Liaison.

CarolW

i would say the irish setter i have staffords and iwould not like to see its population explode like it did when shargleam blackcap won not many people had them before that and then it all went mad lovely dogs though we had them for years

I take it you mean the popularity increase of the Flat coated retriever?
By Leigh
Date 04.03.02 15:18 UTC
Diane, you should be thankful it won't be a bracco. Look at the increase in demand for the bracco after the Worldshow :-(
This might be a bit radical, but if a gundog should go BIS ...wouldn't it be nice if it actually did the job of work that it was developed for :-) or any job of work come to that ..lol
Don't know why but I think it will be a Hungarian Vizla - but of course the best dogs of the day will be my two labs waiting at home for me :)

Leigh when i had my flatcoats they were worked as well as shown my boy prince henry of hasweth was covered in white marks on his face from going through bushes and judges used to remark that he was a proper dog

Good on you Gwen :-) All my dogs are shot over and have 'battle scars'. The last time Merlin went to Crufts I entered him in the FT and Veteran Classes. He was 11.5 years old at the time and came away with two reserves. Not bad seeming all the other veterans were 7 years old at the time :D The judge made me laugh, in their critique they commented about how all the 'oldies' were enjoying their day out!
My bet is on a Pointer...but I wish for a Curly Coated Retriever that would be a first....!!!

I will go for an Irish Water Spaniel, don't really care what breed as long as its not the labrador. Far to many in rescue already. (Guess its the same for every breed.)

Im going to crufts 2morrow, so exicited I cant sleep which is why im here but am starting to doubt how good I will feel tomorrow morning, after seeing the standard poodle this evening I will say him or am I too late. Good luck to evreyone who is their tomorrow!!!

Sammi come and see me and 3 of my lot, and my friend Enids girl at discover dogs! elkhounds are with the hound booths! Just one thing, you shouldn't even contemplating letting any pup do any agility jumps until over a year, with a shep longer, and not until you have them hip scored first!

I wouldnt want to repeat my husband's response to the poodle last night ... it takes all sorts so I think it may win LOL Gina
