My bitch has her first litter. Unfortunately one came out without its sac and stillborn, firstly is that normal? And secondly she finding it difficult to fit all the pups on at once, should I take away half and change them at intervals?? If so at what sort of intervals??
Any feedback would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear about the stillborn pup, it is always sad, but 6 healthy ones is marvelous. How many teats does your bitch have? usually it is 8, 9 or 10. so it should be possible for 6 to feed all at once. If your girl is lying on the bottom row and the pups cant get to them, would she let you gently roll her over more onto her back so that all teats are exzposed? it would be better if they all fed at once and drained each nipple station as then she will satisfy them all equally and make enough milk for the next feed and so on. Good luck, do your best. B.
