Hello all,
I just got home from being gone for 2 days. When i looked at beau's staples, it was like a ball and it was very hard. I called the vet and he said that that was ok becuase some dogs react like that???... Has anyone else experienced this? He told me once she gets the staples out, it will go away...

Hi Lindsay,
I've never experienced the staple method of wound closure, so can't comment from experience, but if that were your post-op wound, would you be worried and want to see your doctor? If so,then take Beau to seethe vet. It sounds nothing like any post-spaying wound I've ever seen.

I have had a dog with staples used, infact I have had an operation with staples instead of stitches and I have never experienced swelling like that.  I would get it checked out to be on the safe side.
