OOhhh, the lucky devils, let's hope that the import register will be no more by then! I can only dream. Had my breed for 11 years now and been able to show in import for just over 3 of those years. I'll have my zimmer frame by the time we get to have CC's :d

we had to do 4 years on rare breeds (acctully thats not long compared to other breeds is it!?)
Well just think about all the good your doing your breed now! it will be you who have the champions when you do your shildren of yours!!!:D

Yes saw it in the paper !! we cant wait !!!!!!!!!!! Looking forward to it already !!
After having done 4 years on Import register and by the time we get tickets we will have done 6 years as a rare breed will be nice to be able to work towards the title of Champion !!!

The Mal club had a vote in March this year and voted against CCs but the KC have forced it on us anyway!

I think thats what happend in Leos bu im not sure!
Personally if a breed club doesn't want CCs then i dont think they should have them.

Rox,excuse my ignorance, but why would a breed club not want CC's,is it so you are preserving the type ?Sandra.

I can't really answer from experiance as aussies have been asking for CCs but from what i have herd is that clubs don't want the competion of always fighting for the CC and tital campion, withh CCs comes alot more back stabbing and sometimes a not so good atmosphere.
\REally you are better off talking to Mal people who don't want CCs
Rox
Thanks Rox,who knows I could be chasing cc's with my new boerboels in years to come!! Sandra.

I can only speak for myself and give views spoken directly to me by others. The vote was 2:1 against applying for CCs.
I think there is truth in the fact that people think CC status brings in too much bitchiness. There seems to be friendlier atmosphere in breeds without CCs. It also bumps up the cost of showing your dogs considerably! I don't know who voted for them or against them but I would guess that it would benefit the few established breeders in the country mostly who would enjoy the Champion status. As an owner, rather than a breeder, it doesn't matter to me whether my dogs are Champions or not - they're my dogs and that's good enough for me!!!
IMO, with a breed such as aussies, who are very attractive dogs, I think having CC's will appeal to many more people and eventually the breed will become as big as BC's. At the moment the breed looks really nice, the dog that's really caught my eye is Applethorns Storm Force, soooo bootiful! And also for Mals I think's gonna become really popular moreso because of the CC's.

Yep, Applethorns Storm Force a.k.a. Groucho is a stunner, I have to agree....... but then with a dad like Lorenzo, he would have to be.......:-)
Not sure whether I personally want C.C.'s for aussies, as like you say, it will draw lots of people into the breed, who want the glory of winning, with a ''showy'' dog..... but it is going to happen so we have to get used to it.....
Saying that, our bitch will be 5 years old, when they come into force, so it would be quite nice to see her made up with a title of Champion........ The breed has come a long way since it started in this country, and a couple of the U.S. imports have added ''good genes'' to our small gene pool and there are some nice up and coming puppies and young dogs.........
Just hoping it carries on like this.......... :-)
