What 'natural' remedies do you use on your dogs?
I use Garlic to combat fleas (but have been warned, this morning, that it's not without risk) and cranberry for bladder problems. Oh and rescue remedy if she's going to be doing anything stressful.
What else do you use and for what?
Also is there a good web site for this kind of thing?

There are several brill sites for this; one of the best is b-naturals, us. also http://www.bowchow.com/index.html
As well as feeding garlic, I include 100mg of FBO, 100mg of Vitamin C, Keepers Mix in my raw fed dogs daily as well as EPO occasionally and some CLO during the winter as I work full time and they hardly see the sun. My lad who is hyperactive is on tuberculinium (the hom remedy they give to children with ADHD and he has acupuncture. He also gets mega doses of Vitamin B complex.
The get Colloidal Silver in their drinking water, rock sulphur in the summer.
I use garlic, brewers yeast and cider vineger for fleas (I think the garlic helps with worms too) pumpkins seeds (worms) , kelp (general health), essential oils (mainly on her collar for fleas) and homeopathic remedies. I've just bought some homeopathic wormers for the dog and cats but not tried them yet. I was using Sulphur for Bess's skin so decided to wait till thats totally sorted. I haven't done the cats yet either as they need dosing twice a day for 30 days!! Got to psych myself up for that one. :D

Colloidal Silver is basically a pre antibiotic remedy. It is safe enough to be taken internally, bathe eyes etc. it can be used to sterilise water, bathe wounds. If you do a search on the web you will find loads of info. Good for athletes foot, spots etc. I get mine from Canine Natural Cures.
Hi Tohme, what do you mean by pre anibiotic remedy, I thought it has antisceptic/antibacterial properties To be honest I`ve used it on the humans more than anything, cuts & scrapes & when hubby cuts himself shaving :D I`ve found it stops the bleeding straight away & no infections afterwards & heals quickly.

It was used before antibiotics were discovered.
Oh right, I was thinking you meant to give it before a course of a/bs.....dumb or what!!!!! :D

Christine,
I managed to get some CS from Brenda. Using it at the moment for Bess's eyes as they sometimes get a bit gungy. Won't be able to tell if they've improved for a while though as not constant. Also my ears as they've been itching like mad (no infection though) It's really helped with the itching. Bliss. :D
Kath.

old boys get cod liver oil to help with joints, all get EPO and one girl gets Vitamin E (other girly didnt seem to get on with it)
They all have garlic in thier liver cake so if you smell garic at a show it might be my pocket!!!!
Oh and rescue remedy at shows now and again if we feel it is needed.
