Can anyone tell me if there are any other checks other than hip scoring and eye testing which are recommended for Rott breeding stock/puppies.  (I am not a breeder or a potential owner; it is just and enquiry)

There are some that are having their elbows checked and I beleive there is character testing for Rotts?

We got our fourth Rott in May this year.  I have to say that we made sure that all the hip scores were done and were good BUT we didn't ask if elbows were scored.  Unfortunately, our pups litter brother has been diognosed with elbow displasia so in the future I would only go to a breeder that elbow scored as well.  I don't know of any breeders that do character testing on their dogs, I thought this was mainly done in Germany.  Have you decided which breeder you are going to????

Think one of the Rottweiler Clubs used to do character assessment, but haven't seen anything about it recently. The results have to be subjective tho' & their value depends a lot on who has done the tests & their knowledge of the breed.
