Hello

Could anyone tell me how often i should be checking Mollys Temp? I have dug out the book of the bitch and am about to have a good read.
Shes acting really strange, keeps digging up all the vet bed that is in the box, panting and puffing away, and wont let me out of her sight (keeps whining), and keeps wanting to go out so am keeping a close eye on her.

My vet told me to try just once a day at the same time each day, but it was a disaster!  She moved about it kept coming out and i was scared of hurting her so I gave up!

Anyway sounds like shes on her way!  My girl ripped up her bed, ate her breakfast then went to sleep for an hour, woke up started shivering and then lay down and started to push!  All a lot faster than I thought it would be!  Good luck to you and your girl.

I never had any success checking temp & gave up long ago.
I had a bitch who was determined she was going to have her first litter under the gooseberry bush - I was determined she wasn't. In the end I shut her in her whelping cage & when the 1st puppy appeared, she gave me such a look of horror "TOLD you I wanted to go out" She was horrified to have made such a mess INDOORS!!! Fortunately, instinct soon kicked in & she was a wonderful mum.
If she's huffing & puffing, sounds like Molly's getting ready - altho' it might take 24 hours +

Hi Dean lots of luck with this bitch, she needs to be put into an area with a whelping box and for you to stay close just to keep her calm as it sounds as if she is on the way i wouldn't keep letting her out, dim the lights and nice calmness do you have a puppy pen as i find my bitch's like this as they can move around, lots of luck give her a warm honey drink as this will give her energy.
