While I was playing with Diesel this evening, I felt a lump under his muzzle, maybe more a third of the way down his neck. It feels about the size of a £2 coin, it's soft and pliable. Now I'm in a panic :(
Do any of you know what this could be, he's due to go to the vet a week tomorrow, but I'm wondering if I should make an appt sooner, even if it's just to put my mind at rest. He doesn't seem to even know it's there, even when I touched it, so it obviously isn't giving him any pain.
But I'm such a worry wart..can anyone help?

Don't speculate - you'll only make yourself worse. You'll have to take him to the vet before next week - for your sake.
No use saying don't worry is it?
Hope you find out it's nothing.

Thanks - You're right I'm going to drive myself mad - you can't help but imagine the worst though. I'll phone up first thing in the morning and make an appointment. I'll not settle until it's been checked. Thanks again for your concern.

Without seeing exactly where it is, my first guess would be that is is probably his adams apple or whatever the doggy version is
Please let us know how you get on at the vets

Hiya, we couldn't get an appt for today, so we're going tomorrow morning at 9, I'm trying not to panic, but it's hard.
I'll let you know what happens

Hiya, Pheww what a relief - it's his lymph nodes :) i can't tell you how relieved I am, I didn't sleep a wink last night. He has had antibiotics in the past for a skin condition, so the vet's sure thats what the problem is because he has quite a spotty chin and his bits are a bit spotty too :D
that he's trying to fight the infection on his own. So she's given me a 2week course of stronger antibiotics and I've to take him back on Tuesday.
But she assured me he's fine and it's nothing untoward.
And as it's my birthday today, yep 21 again, I couldn't have asked for a better present :) :) Thanks guys for your concern.

Sharon - has he been having anything oily - tuna or anything like that? Its normal for them to get big yellow and red spots on their chins - but oily stuff can make it worse. Poor willis was a right teenager for a while! Happy B'day too.

Thanks JG and Chloe - The best present I could have asked for :)
No, Chloe he's only had fish a couple of times, and I have to say he didn't seem too keen on it :D But thanks for the advice anyway
