Hi
went for a beautiful walk up the local country park this afternoon...loads of people with their dogs and a nice warm winters day...wonderful.The boys met lots of nice freindly dogs and a good time was had by all...We were just about to leave when a woman with a medium sized mongrel(collie type) called after me asking if the boys were Keeshounds.I explained they were elkhounds etc and all the time (couple of mins maximum) we were talking her dog was becoming more and more aggressive.I decided the best thing to do was go to the car but she followed at close quaters with her dog now snarling and lunging viciously(it was on a lead).By now Kas was getting aggitated so I walked faster and said 'goodbye'.The woman then said her dog was FREINDLY and that he was just showing her up and that if I let her dog approach he only wanted to play!!!
Why can't people 'read' their dogs behaviour and body language and hence put other people and their dogs at risk

isn't it sad?
SOmetimes i think that they can acctully read their dogs but think we can't so they just say "oh they are friendly" when we know better!!!!
Weird isnt it? Wonder if these dog owners are also the parents of kids who are " high spirited", "gifted" and "tired" aka Toddler Terrorists in Osh Kosh dungarees........
