Well a friend and my self had been told that we could book our Corsos into the show NFC just so that we could get them out for people to see, filled in forms about 2 months ago my friend has just rang to say that they have been told by the KC that we can't take them as they are not reg with the KC i would like to know why you can book a mongrel in NFC and take it but you cant take a pedigree dog which is recognised and shown through out Europe WHY!!!!!! come on KC get your act together.

As far as I'm aware you cannot book a mongrel in as NFC but maybe I'm wrong!!!

Think you are too late for this show anyway. Take the dog in the car if you wish but the show is usually very crowded and if he is not used may well get upset if you try to take him in with you.

Sorry Jackie think you got the wrong end of the stick, we were booked in and our dogs are fine but the KC have now stoped us from going, that is why i am angry.:-)

Sorry thought you were wanting to do it now, that is right it says in the schedule that the dog must be registered with them to enter even as NFC but know one will stop you haveing it in the car.

Hi archer

I believe you can enter a crossbreed NFC at breed shows only if it's on the obedience register.  Someone I know has 2 LM's and brings their crossbreed to shows because they don't want to leave him home alone.

Hey CG

I have just been thinking and it once came up in a conversation similar.

You can't enter your dogs at a show under KC rules not even for NFC BUT what you can do is write to the secretary asking if you can bring the dogs to the show to get them used to other people and dogs. This way you are not entering and so the KC can't stop you but you have permission to have the dogs on the shows premisis by the secretary so you can take them without problems. I also suggest to say to the secretary you are willing to pay a donation of the price of the NFC classes

I say its worth a try, if i am wrong in this then i am sorry

When the club applies for a licence to hold a show under the rules of the kennel club it agrees to abide by their rules and would be in deep do do if they then invited unentered dogs to attend the show.

Looking at the Rules of a recent Club show, Rule 21 states:

Unless they are ENTERED at the Show, no dogs are allowed into the hall during the show's continuance except a registered Guide Dog forthe Blind or Hearing Dog for the Deaf or dogs required for educational or instructional purposes or by permission of the General Committee.

The last clause seems to allow people to apply to bring other dogs. It's worth checking the schedule very carefully.

Guess that would be the General Commitee of the Kennel Club and that would take at least 6 months, and we all know how flexable they are.

Thanks every one for your posts i do understand i just felt a bit angry with the KC as some of us with this breed are trying to do our best when it comes to breeding good stock and doing all the right things so that one day they might put us on the import reg/rare breeds, we hold rallies and we ask top judges/speakers to come, we try to take them out and about so that the public can get to see them, the secretary of the show has been very nice and is try ing to give us a helping hand she has called the KC twice and is still trying to get some one to tell her what is going on, but we will just have to keep plodding on and keep asking the KC to give our breed a chance.

From what you have said I presume that you have set up a club, have you registered this club with the KC?  It took us in Spanish Water Dogs 8 years before we were put on the import register, so you may have a long wait ahead of you unfortunately.
