Hi everyone
Just wondering if any of you have tried and tested ways of stopping your dogs from jumping up to see what's on the kitchen worksurfaces, or should I resign myself to the fact that Sparky will have to be out of the kitchen when I'm working in there?
So far we have tried :
empty surfaces - spotlessly clean, clear of all clutter and very boring (but great for licking)
a water pistol (fine, but spent my time like Dirty Harry, prowling the kitchen with it. Sparky refuses to jump at all when the gun is in my hand, but does so the minute I put it down)
building an arrangement of pans so that they crash down and make a noise (oh, he loved that one - tried to put one of the pans on his head, then ran off with it)
telling him how fantastic he is when he does manage to "leave" whatever is up there (not bad with this one, but know full well he will be back the minute I'm distracted)
Does bitter apple spray work on smooth surfaces like this? Any other tips?
Cheers
Tracy
PS Now I admit to having very low domestic standards, but I swear there are no food scraps on the floor when I've finished mopping it. So, why does he enjoy licking it so much, concentrating on the mortar between the tiles? Do you think he likes the taste of the floor cleaner when it's dried off?
