Hello,

Just want to ask advice re my bitch mated 15 days ago.

She's had a milky white discharge since day 8, which cleared up on day 13 or so. I took her to the vets on Weds as i wasn't happy about her, she seemed a little 'off' and i'm watching her like a hawk at the moment! :-)

She started being sick - white and frothy (...nice!) on Tuesday night, and was just pacing around etc, just didn't seem right.

Vet checked her over, has given me Pro-Kolin for her, told me to keep an eye on her and left it at that, actually she blamed her 'hormones' :-)

She's now better, and is pretty much back to her normal self.

Could this be a symptom of early pregnancy? - feeling a little 'icky' and sickness, she hadn't eaten anything wierd or wonderful, the sickness came on suddenly (and scared me half to death!)
Book of the Bitch mentions 'morning sickness' but doesn't state when this could occur, and if 13-15 days is too soon for such happenings!!

We've got another 2 weeks until she can be scanned, i'd be more confident - she was mated 6-7 times, but she never tied so i won't be convinced until i get proof!! :-) :-)

Mated 6 - 7 times, why so many times? is that normal?

Trying to get a tie I would think.

Just to clear this up, she was 'mated' over the period of a week, every 24 hours until she would no longer stand for the dog.
She was as willing to be mated as he was to mate her, each 'mating' was penetration, thrusting, dog stopping and turning, tied for 2-4 mins (this varied between mating) then 'tie' and swollen dog.. slipping out, even with attempts to hold pair together. (...nice, description i know... :-( )

Yes, i would have preferred a 'tie' but we tried the bitch each day with the dog, because she was still eager to be mated. :-)
