There are Dobermann puppies around at the moment but without asking around I don't know if they are in your area, if you [email kerioakdobes@btinternet.com] email [/email] me I can enquire for you.  Have you checked out the breeders on Champdogs?

It is possible that since you were owned by your last Dobermann some of the health testing has progressed.  We now have a DNA test for von Willebrands Disease (this is a bleeding disorder and affected dogs have very little clotting factor and can therefore bleed anywhere in the body either spontaneously (rare) or after trauma or when on drugs that affect clotting factors).  Therefore it is advisable to make sure the breeder of your next pup has had the parents tested and that at least one is vWD Clear.  One Clear parent means that hte puppies can only be Clears or Carriers and therefore will not be at risk.

Other health tests to enaurie about are eye tested (for PHPV) and Hip X-raying, the average score for our breed is 10.

There are obviously many more things to enquire about but not knowing if you will visit the board again this is enough to be going on with for now :)

They currently have registered breeders with puppies in N England & S Scotland.
