hello everyone
me and simon are going o collect our westie on saturday. hes 8weeks old and gorgeous, we are in love already totally.
it cannot come quick enough, but as this is our first time having a dog from a puppy does anyone have any tips/advice/info for us?? we have read the perfect puppy book and a book purely on housetraining, but first hand advice would be fab!!
so excited and cannot wait till saturday, we will collect him at 12.30pm....
any replies would be great

The only advice I can give you is to relax and enjoy :) I am sure you will be on here posting about your new pup as soon as you have picked him up :)

Hi Laura, I know how excited you must be, we've had our puppy Diesel now for almost 7 weeks, and he's an absolute dream :) The only tips I would give you is enjoy it, they're not puppies for very long.
Just take her out every half hour or so, and wait until he does his business, and praise him lavishly :) They're really not long in learning to please you, the hardest thing I found with Diesel was the first couple of nights, trying to ignore his crying, that was tough....but it paid off, as he now wanders off to his bed around 10.30 and doesn't get up until between 6.30 and 7ish, so I can cope with that :) I can't imagine not having him here now, it feels like he's been with us forever :)

I didn't sleep all night before we went to pick up Maisie :) She's our third Westie and they have all been wonderful :D Please keep us posted!!
