Hi,

Iv recently become fascinated by the Lowchen breed. I have never seen them in the flesh but have seen pictures and they do look absolutely stunning dogs. Have also been reading up on their character which appears lovely too. Has anyone any experience of this breed? I am also wondering if they are so rare that they are almost impossible to find. I am not really interested in showing my dogs and would imagine Lowchen breeders tend to sell to show home mainly. Does anybody know if this is true? I am normally a fan of dogs from the pastoral group but for some reason, this breed really appeals to me. I am also wondering if my ideas of owning one is too far fetched as I am imagining them to be VERY expensive. So any knowledge of these dogs would be greatly appreciated as I am as yet in just the dreaming phase

I don't think Lowchens are that rare, they've been in the UK for quite a long time, although you'd probably have to be prepared for a wait if you wanted a puppy. Go here for a list of breeders or go to the KC Site to contact the breed club for info. If you can find a breeder or owner near to you, even if they haven't got pups, they may well be happy for you to visit & asnswer all your questions.
